Wow 8 Episodes, who would have thought! First Cow (2020) stars John Magaro as Otis “Cookie” Figowitz, Orion Lee as King-Lu, and Eve the cow as...well, Eve the cow. This independent film which first appeared at the Telluride Film Festival in 2019 was wonderfully put together. With clever shots and good timing in abundance, its clear why Kelly Reichardt’s films do so well critically. In this episode we discuss the origin story of donuts and food trucks, how long Mantis would dig up a skeleton before batting an eye, and whether or not Brianna actually is the first cow herself. Fire up the fryer and get you some honey because these oily cakes are going fast!
